November is one of our busiest times of year here at Adhesif Clothing...it literally just ZOOMS by in the blink of an eye and then BAM...it's December just like that!
We started off with Circle Craft on November 11th.
This year marked our 10th consecutive year participating at this massive Christmas artisan market featuring the work of over 300 artists and designers from across Canada. This year we shared a booth with the talented local leather designer Bronsino who's work we also carry at the Adhesif Clothing Shop...
We had so much fun seeing some old friends and making new ones like these lovely ladies who were first time customers. They added a little sprinkle of Adhesif Clothing to their wardrobe and we have a feeling they'll be back for more soon...after all we do stick to you (ahem...dad jokes dad jokes)
This lovely lady left with one of our reversible Nico Kimonos & a Bronsino narrow obi belt which just so happened to match her floral blouse and kitty face flats...LOVE it when our customers prefer to walk out in their purchases!
This gal's lavender colored curly locks matched the Knit Knack Bolero she walked away with, too cool! (above)
Next up, we went off to Vancouver Island in Victoria at the Out of Hand Fair now in its 37th year running which features the work of many artisans from Vancouver Island and the surrounding Gulf Islands. We absolutely LOVE the island folk! They are such a breath of fresh air!
Such sweet and endearing individuals that emulate a vibe of relaxation!
Local jeweler Suzanne Nairne modeling our signature Floret Jacket design which just so coincidentally happened to match her teal colored tights...she obviously got the memo! (below)
We had a meeting of the minds with this unique and stylish lady who's entire wardrobe was made out of her favorite vintage finds (below). I saw her walking into my booth and I approached her and asked her about her style and how she would best describe her look.
She laughed and said she was really into punk, goth and boy did she nail it...absolutely LOVED her full length red tartan vintage wool wrap skirt. People with style this unique are oodles of inspiration for me and I'm constantly getting ideas from them when I'm watching street style.
Of course she also had a Parisienne french accent and just so happened to be from Le Provence in the South of France...Le sigh...
We just arrived back into town late last night from packing things up at the Out of Hand Fair and no, there's no rest quite yet...next up we are looking forward to one of our FAVE shows of the year!
YES! The Shiny Fuzzy Muddy shows happens next weekend at the Heritage Hall and we've definitely saved the best for last...
The Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Show happens on Dec Saturday the 12th & Sunday the 13th 2015 which features a carefully curated collection of contemporary fine craft, art + design presented annually in Vancouver by the Shiny Fuzzy Muddy Collective which is made up of 4 artists from different mediums; Janna Hurtzig, Arleigh Wood, Frances Dickinson & Kari Woo. I love this show for SO many reasons.
The fact that this event is lovingly organized by artists is one reason but honestly the selection of work at this event is incredibly fine tuned. There are no crossovers in the type of handiwork you find here and without all the stress of holiday shopping. Whatever you do make this event your last stop for unique, handmade gifts this holiday season. I ALWAYS find something I have to have at this event!
