Things aren't always what they seem, especially when you travel abroad.
I
remember my first trip to Germany. Originally it was a detour, over the
Christmas Holidays, on the way over to Paris.
To
be honest, visiting Germany was on the bottom of my bucket list especially since
my next stop was the ever so glamorous fashion Mecca that is Paris, France.
That was until I actually travelled there 4 years ago. In the end I didn't want
to leave and I never thought I would call Deutschland my second home today.
I
remember my first morning there. I woke up to a sleepy little village in
Southern Germany. I opened the curtains and gazed out of the window towards a
crisp white sky with the village Castle atop the hill (Germany is a Castle
lovers playground).
The snow was gently falling with an almost ethereal hover gently blanketing all of the charming little black and white half-timbered buildings that the country is so well known for. I felt like I was living in the warmth of a happy childhood memory that looked something like the inside of a Hallmark Christmas card. It was a totally magical moment, one I`ll never forget and I fell instantly in love with the snowy black & white landscape...
I decided to dedicate my Fall/Winter 2015 Collection to
that first magical day and night I spent while wandering the beautiful
cobblestone pathways in the snow of that quiet little town nestled in the hills.
I designed my entire Fall-Winter 2015 collection in a black & white theme
which is a first for the normally super colorful compositions I'm used to
creating for the Adhesif Clothing Collections.
This winter collection features designs that effortlessly
take you from day to night. Whether you are out day tripping from town to town
or out for an evening with friends.

During my travels in Europe, I noticed a big emphasis on easy layering pieces so I also created some wonderful throw over pieces like the Convert Vest, Patchcrop Pullover & Abel Cape which are so easy to add over top of your favorite little black shift dress or something like the Tri Leggings which are also in this collection.

Special features in this collection include a minimal abstract floral design that was custom printed on the 2 tone fabrics we used in designs like the Druzy Dress, Day 5 Dress, Dollface Dress. The print was created by Christina Norberg, a Vancouver contemporary artist who made the illustration exclusively for our FW15 Collection.

It was a very snowy day on the day of the shoot
which created a super magical backdrop for the photos and the blustery
conditions felt very reminiscent of my first day in Germany years before.
The
shoot took place in another super cute little village during my last trip to
Germany in Dec 2014. I've been fortunate enough to have spent every Christmas
in Germany now since that first visit for the last several years ago...
