Fall for Romance

You can feel it in the briskness of the morning air...the season is changing...

Ooooh but how I love the Autumn. It's perfect.
The contrast of the bold bright colors of changing leaves amidst a crisp blue sky speckled with streams of cloud. When the heat of the summer night turns into cozy contemplative evenings filled with pink & purple sunset gazings...the fire of nature becoming ready for restfulness.
Time for a cup of tea & poetry...le sigh...how romantic, no?

Like many artists & designers I find much inspiration in nature.
Fall exemplifies a lot of my own design aesthetic for Adhesif Clothing. I'm a sucker for contrast, I love juxtaposition. Initially when I started Adhesif Clothing over 10 years ago, I mainly designed for Fall/Winter. To this day my most popular pieces are still any of the reworked sweater designs I create
(...and still one of my most favorite things to do!)

Any designer will tell you, designing for Fall fashion is limitless creatively. For this season, dressing in layers is key which makes for endless outfit variations & combinations.

I love playing with layers when it comes to fashion styling, which is why I usually tend to create statement separates for Fall-Winter fashion.
This can certainly be seen in Adhesif's new FW 2014 Collection...

The romance of the Coppertown Cape is the perfect layering piece especially when layered with our Get to the Point Pencil Skirt & Fingerless Mittens

The Straight Up Tea Dress is basically a long t-shirt dress that can be worn with leggings or over fitted pants like your fave skinny jeans. Layer with a cardigan and kick it up a notch by pairing with an awesome narrow leather obi belt by Bronsino...

Bronsino's leather obi's are available in an array of gorgeous colors at the
Adhesif Clothing shop as seen above

What gal doesn't love a knit shift dress for Autumn?
The Stick Shift Dress is perfect for those blustery mornings.

The Damzel in Bliss Knit Dress looks amazing layered with leggings. For cooler temperatures just pair up this dress with a fitted long sleeve jersey underneath and give the dress a different style.

The Knit Knack Bolero & Get to the Point Pencil Skirt. This is a great look for someone who wants to look polished while keeping the vibe playful & cozy

The Jager Bell Jacket (above) is the perfect little swing  coat!
Pair this with leggings & our Ledout Legwarmers for a little extra warmth & create a whimsical feeling with your Fall look.

The silhouette of the Skipping Stones Skirt is true romance, so feminine & elegant. There's such lovely movement in the hemline, great for skipping along on your way while whistle a tune.

Our Fall-Winter 2014 Collection is now available in our shop (2202 Main Street Vancouver, BC)
Select pieces will be available on our Etsy shop (while quantities last)

Designing Mind

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet...
Just a little insight as to how THIS designer's mind works when in the process of putting together a new collection. I usually start off with a feeling and go with that in terms of styling/overall emulation of the collection.

I'm off to Gibsons on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, BC this weekend to shoot out Spring-Summer 2015 Collection and I'm very much looking forward to the natural scenery and chill vibes that the island life is so noted for on the West Coast.

Adhesif Clothing will have the opportunity to be working with the amazingly talented Jennifer Picard.
Jennifer has been responsible for shooting 4 of our other collections with some of my fave images below...

Here is some lovely imagery that I've created a sort of mood board for our upcoming shoot...

Can you guess what the theme for the shoot will be?
SUPER excited to show you the results in the future!
Stay tuned...

In the meantime feel free to have a look at the Adhesif Clothing website to revisit some of our past and upcoming collections!
